Learned it the hard way

I do a lot of things with the bike. Last month my dad fixed my old racebike. On my second trip I fell in a small turn and ended up in the hospital with a heavy concussion.

Should I have worn a helmet, I would’ve had nothing. Now I have to rest. ‘and certainly no computer.’  so said the doctor.

From now on racebike equals put on helmet. As my father always adviced. I’ve learned it the hard way. First fall, then buy a helmet and use it.

Story from an old workplace

At one of my old workplaces I had been stationed for about a year and a half a while ago, the sysadmin, let’s call him Bart, left that place about a year and a half ago. But his legacy is still there.

Now today I heard from a colleague that is still there the following

[17:26:38] A: Do you know a former sysadmin named Bart ?
[17:27:49] B: do i? Hehe yes
[17:29:23] B: i told you about him remember
[17:32:42] A: oh, I remember
[17:34:19] A: When they reboot machines here, on the monitoring display is shown ‘I love Bart’
[17:35:29] A: he also made some changes to show insults instead of normal error messages

He really made his name as a BOFH over there now! Lol

ps: LOL is now a genuine English word.
