Why broken shoes are great

Somewhere half 2013 I bought myself a new pair of shoes. They were of the very very cheap kind and hence with the low price, came the low quality. After a single game of football (soccer) with my youngest kid there was a hole in it. But, me being a bit stubborn, on holidays that time,  and just bought the shoes a month before, refused to go and buy new shoes instantly.

I decided to wear em a bit longer till they’re worn off. Somehow I ended up wearing them till they really are broken. See for yourself

You probably think like “What the heck? Why do you wear that?” It’s fairly simple why having broken shoes is great! And there are at least 3 reasons!

First, we live in a society that  is insanely focusing on how you look instead of who you are inside, partially for pointing that out I refused to change it. Shoes are not me, neither am I shoes.

Secondly, we also live in a society that has a “throw away and replace” mentality far to often. We should be more aware of the impact that our this mentality has on our environment. Functionally these broken shoes are still doing a perfect job.

Last but not least, maybe they are even doing a better then perfect job. I used to have perspiring feet. With the usual consequence, feet bacteria that produce a smell. (nothing you can’t fix with enough washing and closed shoes) But since the holes, I do have perspiration, but the bacteria? They have ran away, probably too cold.

But I must admit. Winter is coming. The time for replacement is near!
