Burma monks on the fight

The UN let the world know they don’t like the evolution in Burma. The demonstrating population led by the Buddhist Monks is being suppressed and shot on by the police and military. Since the demonstraters are peacefull till now the UN calls upon the leaders of Burma not to use force or… there will be sanctions.

However, as hypocrit as the UN is, yesterday, there was only a word of concern. While the UN should be an organisation that takes action against events like this, it is merely an instrument of the bigger countries to protect there assets and values around the world. But who didn’t know that !?

Luckily there are some countries that dear to speak up in the UN-meetings while others play only butt-kissers of the bigger nations who randomly abuse their veto rights. Veto rights are never, or almost never, used for anything good. (Of course the definition of good depends on the eyes you look through.) The UN is very fast in creating Acts against countries like Iran but not against Burma, Israël and so on. How come? Well, countries like Iran have (or had) no veto-righted friends in the UN while Israël and Burma do have these. Never the less more people are being damaged by those last to governments then by the Iranïans.

Time to change the structure of the UN ? End the veto’s and screw the Security Council !
